It may be beneficial to have a separate sub-board for generic guidance and issue reporting on installing apps.
In addition to APKPure and the Tauon Home webpage, I was able to install Amazon AppStore and use it to install apps.
I installed Google Play Store, but it requires a sign in and clicking the button to Sign In does nothing. I suspect it is expecting the device to be associated with a Google account, an Android phone is.
Although access to the Google Play Store is not completely blocked. I downloaded C64games, which has an option to install Fredo C64 from the Play Store and that works. So it should be possible to get Play Store to work with a little hacking.

APTPure wanted to update a bunch of the included apps but the installs failed. I had to delete the apps from the launcher and then it could install the new versions. Is this expected behavior? A thing to be aware of, if so.

Almost all open-source software provided in the firmware is taken from F-Droid site and is signed with their keys. You can update the software through G-Droid app, as it uses F-Droid repository. I don't recommend you though to update Brick Games and KeiKai Launcher apps as they are custom builds for Tauon OS.

Ahh! OK. This is a thing that was not made clear. The g-droid app doesn't appear to be as aggressive as apkpure about "HEY update this!" :-)

I found where gdroid stashes the apks it downloads: /sdcard/Android/data/org.gdroid.gdroid/cache
and backed them up.
After the next update I won't have to download them all again. :-)

Ahoy, I wanted to let you know that the YouTube app at APK Pure installs and runs fine in full 1080P. It looks the same as that app on WebOS on my LG monitor/TV. Just search for youtube and when the results come up don't take the default mobile app. Go down the list a couple times until you see the youtube app V7.1. Click on that and make sure it is for the Android TV. It works awesome. Of course I have a 24" monitor at 1600x900 res w/a laptop cooler fan. I would try to change it up but the res app won't let me go any higher. But watching youtube vids at 1080P with 0-20 dropped frames until the buffer is smooth then no more dropped frames, temp mid 60s C fan at 5. DaveyB
