Hi
Currently using PC-1 via straight HDMI to a desktop monitor (not a TV).
I am presuming that the audio for the PC-1 is fed down the HDMI as a digital signal. My desktop monitor only has HDMI video -- so no sound. What are my options for getting sound out?
(1) Split off the audio from the HDMI at source (adapters available circa £20) -- this usually feeds them to 3.5mm plug (2) Can I simultaneously use the composite / audio plug on the PC-1 and just connect up the audio jack? (3) Is there any way to connect a "cheap" mini speaker direct to the board? (4) Use a monitor with HDMI video and audio
Am (as always) thinking about education use case. I presume the simplest is (4) and just use a decent monitor with built in speakers?
I will probably go for (1) in the short term as the device is sat on my desk and this is cheaper than a new monoitor.
Is (2) an option -- can I use HDMI and the Composite outputs at the same time?
Cheers Glen

Hello, you can use a composite out connector with a regular 3.5 jack to have analog sound (if you are using PAL/NTSC firmware). However, the quality would be much worse than HDMI. Be careful with the composite output connector, it's really sensitive and could be broken easily (this was discovered when all PCBs were produced already). You can inject epoxy around and below the connector to make it stronger.

Wont use it in class and will investigate a proper HDMI (with sound) monitor. Cheers G
