hi all. new to the PC-1 and i am looking to add a cooling fan to unlock the true power of the machine. i have a small fan (unsure of the size) that come with a raspberry pi case i no longer use. the question is, can i solder the pwr + GND to the UART pin outs? or what would be the best way of going about it. hoping i don't mess it up as i have already snapped the composite connector off the board already just by plugging the cable in

Hello, you can use UART + and GND for this purpose. Or you might connect straight to the power source connector to get +5v. Sorry about the composite connector, it is (now) a known issue with the first revision of the boards.

Sorry about the composite connector, it is (now) a known issue with the first revision of the boards. i tried soldering my fan to the UART pinouts. i managed to solder the +. but there was no solder point for the ground wire. and i couldn't get solder to take to the board no matter what. i then soldered it to the USB ports and the fan didn't seem to want to work. so i gave up.
