It is worth pointing out that, for the Tauon, "HDMI monitor" apparently does not mean "DVI monitor with a cable adapter", it means "monitor with an actual HDMI plug".
I was planning on using the Tauon with an old Gateway 1024x768 DVI flatscreen, but they wouldn't talk to each other. It also wouldn't work with a Dell DVI flatscreen.
I ran the Tauon last night on an old NTSC CRT, but 640x400 interlaced was giving me a headache. I'm too old for that, apparently.:-(
So today I bought a proper HDMI monitor for it. So nice!
And TauonOS is perfectly happy to send audio out the AV port and video out the HDMI port.

The simple cable HDMI to DVI won't work. However, adapters that have HDMI as input and various output options like RCA, S-VIDEO, VGA, DVI - should work. You could try cheap HDMI to VGA adapters, they were working well too.

Excellent! Glad there are options.
This is the first new monitor I've purchased since 1991! That is how excited and modivated I am about the Tauon!

I've connected mine to a full-HD 38" Samsung TV via HDMI, and got very nice display at 1280x720. Very happy with that. :-) It is not clear though how I would get the higher resolution which is blocked with "*THESE RESOLUTIONS REQUIRE ACTIVE COOLING TO WORK PROPERLY" message. How to do that? Is there a fan connector on the system board? I would be willing to add a fan etc.. if possible.
The other note on HDMI monitors, I would add, is that I also needed to change "HDMI output mode" to 1080P_60Hz, in Display, in Settings. By default, the TV was up-scaling the picture, and it was not super-clear. Now, after the output mode change, the picture is perfect. :-)

Hello, yes, similar cables work well with Tauon.
