My machine was more stable on 0.97 than it is on 0.991. I'll use this post to list the issues that I encounter.
Performance is worse. So far, I've used the Android UI, Firefox light, and Manage Apps. Each of those three are noticeably slower.
The Settings app crashes when I select the "... More" button under Wireless & networks, click the "... More" button. It crashes every time, even after a reboot.
When removing an app, the screen goes black for a couple of seconds before going back to the app list. Initially I thought the settings app was crashing after removing an app.
Settings->Display->Display output mode. When selected, you are shown radio buttons for PAL and NTSC. Clicking NTSC does not appear to do anything, as both radio buttons are empty the next time I click Display output mode. Now that there is a separate firmware for NTSC and PAL, I wonder if this setting should be hidden or removed.
Settings->Display->Screen percent. The first time I turned on the PC-1, this slider was all the way to the right and about a quarter inch of all four edges of the launcher were cut off. After upgrading to 0.991, I thought the screen was smaller so I checked this setting and found this slider was all the way to the left. I'm not sure if that was intentional. If so, I wonder if something closer to the middle would be a good default setting.
This is one is a nitpick. Under Security, there is a button to "Encrypt phone". If possible, perhaps that should be renamed to "Encrypt device".
I was happy to see the Battery setting removed. The UI indicated that my battery was 100% charged, even though I didn't think there was a battery. Unfortunately, I decided to confirm my suspicion by unplugging the AC from the unit.
